    You took the line that should yield the most fold equity, which is the opposite of what you want. I'd much rather check/raise the flop, or lead-lead-lead for value from AQ/AA/KK/AhKh. I'd like your line much better if you had a hand that wants him to fold but has equity, like T9hh.

    As played, he probably checks back everything you beat, and probably doesn't call a bet with anything. If he has any river bluffing frequency at all with a hand like KK then you can check/call, but I probably check/fold, expecting it to go check/check.
